Moreover, the whole inception of an idolized criminal organization is mentioned in the trailer, making the main plot extremely plain and predictable. Thirdly, I don’t see the necessity of the entire Kung Fu portion, to somehow relate to the Chinese new year and invest in the Asian market? Or to attract audience from Michelle Yeoh’s prior work? To me the section is wholly arbitrary and peripheral.One thing to be complimented is the amount of self-allusions to the previous films, such as Dr. Nefario, Bank of Evil, the AVL: it’s always nostalgic to see familiar faces in a prequel. Except for this, Universal would seriously need to confer about the future of minions.
